Being a follower of Jesus Christ has an effect on our lives and our relationships, especially in our workplaces. Full-time workers can spend up to 70% or more of their waking time working in their vocation.

Many people in our work places do not know that God cares for them. God loves being a part of the lives of those He has created. He can be there working alongside your workmates, bringing His care and concern, and His friendship, through you.

If you are a leader in the marketplace, working in areas of management, you have influence. Christ in you can bring wisdom, insight and effectiveness to the success of the business. With His presence in your life, compassion, hope and joy can come into your company and enrich the lives of your staff and your customers. You can make a positive difference!

Bring the Presence of God in your Marketplace!

Enjoy opportunities of friendship. There will be some with whom you have an affinity. Invite them to lunch and take an interest in them and their family. Explore common interests and plan after hours activities if the opportunity arises. Remember too, there are people around you who have spiritual interests other than Christianity. Spiritual interests can create opportunities for conversation and friendship.

Encourage other Believers. They are not always obvious, so ask the Lord to show you who they are. Look for signs of their faith in their conversation... on their desk. As you meet others who are interested in God, gather sometime during the week to encourage one another in your faith and in your work. Pray for your workplace and your colleagues. Pray for the success of the business and ask God to show a way through the challenges that it faces.

Be diligent and faithful in your work. Look for opportunties to add value to the company. Be available for extra training and sharpen your skills wherever possible. Do whatever you can to help your colleagues succeed. Be the best you can be... go the extra mile!
